servers.com Kubernetes clusters are now compatible with Agones

After a period of robust end-to-end testing, we’re happy to confirm that our Kubernetes clusters are officially compatible with Agones.

Agones is a free, open-source platform built on top of Kubernetes that helps deploy, host and orchestrate dedicated game servers for multiplayer games. Our gaming customers can start taking advantage of Agones immediately, gaining benefits such as reduced development and operational costs, simplified tooling (Agones lets you run your game services and servers on one platform) and access to the platform’s vast developer community.

Simply install Agones directly on your existing servers.com Kubernetes clusters by following the installation instructions on the Agones website. If you need more information contact our team.

Our load balancer service is now available in WAS3

Our load balancing service is now publicly available in our WAS3 data center location. With this addition, we can now offer customers operating out of the Washington DC, Metropolitan area access to dedicated server hosting with improved server efficiency and application performance, reduced network latency and faster response times.

Scheduling hardware upgrades for your dedicated server hosting just got easier

We’ve made it easier for our customers to schedule hardware upgrades. When you send us a request to upgrade disks or RAM on your dedicated server, there’s now the option to specify a preferred time zone for your selected timeslot. In addition, you can also specify whether you want to receive your server turned on or powered down after the upgrade.

New functionality improvements

We’ve made functionality improvements to improve overall user experience for our customers. These include:

  • Assigning multiple certificate types on the same load balancer endpoint

  • Changing the default network for your dedicated server

  • Switching a cloud instance to rescue mode by adding an obsolete image to the Public API

  • New and improved widgets on the customer portal dashboard

New multi-accounts feature for the customer portal

We’ve released a new multi-accounts feature designed to enhance account and resource management and facilitate efficient oversight over multiple resources and user accounts within a single login.

The feature enables our customers to allocate resources effectively and invite team members to collaborate on projects, making it perfectly suited to businesses eager to experiment with different projects and ideas.

Key features include:

  • Configurable billing currency and address

  • Separate resource allocation for distinct accounts (aids invoicing and budgeting by keeping everything organized under individual accounts)

  • Account users can access multiple accounts and switch between accounts

  • Resources are isolated under specific accounts to prevent security breaches

The feature will be especially useful for businesses working across multiple regions and billing across different base currencies, as well as for anyone wanting to create separate accounts for standalone projects.

You can read more about the multi-accounts feature on our knowledge base.
